My parents owned an empty house with a window that wouldn't lock. I led him there one night. In the autumn chill, we made our own heat. The quiet of abandonment made our noises seem foreign. We stayed there through out the night. Watching the shades turn from black to dirty beige In the light the mystery was gone and so was he.
