He cruises down the strip wearing midwestern conservative outdated five years ago clothes that scream out of towner. He does a few circuits. "Checking out the merchandise." he says to himself. Something he heard on a cop show. Was that the one about the vice squad? Momentarily nervous, he checks the rearview mirror. Pushing those thoughts from his mind he steadies his nerve. I am going to do this. Twenty-three years of marriage and not once. Not once did she offer. I am going to do this. His resolve back, he pulls over at the next corner. A worn out looking woman in short skirt and red wig approaches his window. She leans in giving him a view of doughy breasts. "Hey baby." "You lost?" Something I can do for you?" For all his preparation he is speechless. "Come on sugar." "Talk to mama." She smiles and he notices she has no teeth. end part 1the things you come up when you lack sleep Written April 16th, 2002 © on Apr 16 2002 01:16 AM PST   0 • 16
