Spirit Calling

By Pat G

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

From the screams of things primeval     on the walls of darkened caves     in old tombs of stone and mortar     through to hist'ry's written page -     Spirit totems ghostly fading     change their shape, they're yet the same.     ....     Search the shades of virgin timber     dive to depths of ocean graves     they are carved in rotting cedar     they still gleam neath glacial waves.     Symbols of a "spirit calling".     Change their shape, they're yet the same.     ....     Grassy plains of floating umber.     shifting dunes of sun baked grains.     mounded hillocks still cached under.     steep'ng slopes where lava rains.     You'll unearth them - hear them calling-     Diverse shapes translate the same.     ..     "Come protect the most deserving.     Bless the race that calls your name."     ------- Written November 29th, 2001 © on Nov 29 2001 05:43 AM PST, Pat Grantt   0 • 10
