Emotional Death

By Paul B

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I am cold to this world around me Useless death and shocking theme Leaves me safe in my core No feeling but felt once And freed from confusing compassion I am rooted in deepest sleep I wait for the clash of ringing doom A sign that maybe means Freedom from this deadened core To love, to feel, to hurt once more To touch, be felt, make my mark And awake to the pain of  sorry man No rhyme around me To salve harsh words Just hard rhythm to pound me To pulse the blood once again Through hardened veins And break this self made wall I will awake! And wake I did to fallen grace With Death’s own angel as mentor Gripped in spite by its’ close embrace But alive! With hot blood abound I live still my humanity found Life.It was written after losing an aquaintance and realising how little death affected me..... Emotional Death!
