I Lust
By Paul B
I lust for the material world Its pleasures and desires The bodily thrill of an unholy will Its consumption and its fires I lay content in this physical state My every whim granted My taste for life a sharpened breath Sensation and feeling slanted But lost I am Without that essential mark That being of intimate meaning Reason and glorious spark If I hide my sensibility Stay only in presence felt Why, I should be free Drifting in never ending melt Join with me In this pleasure filled palace Of lucid mind and heightened sense Gazing on the world without malice But keep one foot In the ground firmly planted For corruption is only one side The other is already granted Written January 2nd, 2002 © on Jan 02 2002 08:21 AM PST 18 • 0 • 10
