I had a friend give me some advice today "Hold your heart tight and run" But where do I go? Everywhere I see you Feel, hear, and taste you "Take your heart and run," she says And so I run holding fast ~~~ But... ~~~ Every turn Every pass Every mountain Bridge and Byway You are there ~~~ Sometimes I don't see you ahead of me Then I'll turn and see you gaining on me Following the tears Flowing between my fingers and dropping on the ground Straight from the heart I try so hard to hide from you ~~~ If this one thing be said that is true "THE HEART BETRAYS ITSELF" "No matter how fast and furious we run!"
