In The Early Hours

By Pleasure

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

In the early hours When broken hearts cry The world is asleep And I want to die. In the early hours When I remember All that was and could have been My heart just aches And I just surrender to my pain. Tears fall against my pillow And I feel the sorrow that lies Deep in my heart And I know that I’m alone. But when the sun rises life goes on And I do all that is necessary to survive But my heart sleeps during the daylight And only comes awake in the early hours It tortures my mind With a love that I recall I pray for peace and relief From the memories, lonilness, and grief. And I hope wherever he is He remembers me with the passion and grief That keeps me awake in the early hours. Written January 30th, 2002 © on Jan 30 2002 07:05 AM PST   0 • 12
