What is it that society wants of women? Are we to merely bring life to the world Then have no say to the way it is run? The battles were fought And the dues awarded through the years But still we are expected to become superhuman. if we want the responsibilities of men We must abandon our nature and then be criticized. To make it in this man's world We must acquire a cold and stony persona, one vacant of our nurturing tendencies. We reward those in this world That seem to care of only getting ahead, But those that have the real priorities of a good life Are knocked down by the greediness of society. So a slap on the hand to a hung-over single sales associate, But hand the pink slip to the mother of the sick child. What is it that women are supposed to care about in this world? A dream, a job, a family?
