This life in the end shall be well worth the pain Of the heartache and tragedy that preceded the rain. The rain that did wash all my torment and fears, Away with the bitterness I'd gathered for years. I'd never take it back to do over again, For it is who I am and ever have been. Though I offer it up as my sacrifice of love, I would ask that my reward arrive on the wing's of a dove. Nothing can ever take me back to the darkness I knew, I was purified in the light and the shadows withdrew. I will still need to be carried till You come take me home, But I know I am safe and my heart shall never roam. Written December 15th, 2001 © on Dec 15 2001 01:16 PM PST 18 • 0 • 13
