Christian- For Fellow Man?

By Poetic Fanatic

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

What would you do for your fellow man? Would you do things to treat him so kind? Would you take a fall to protect a friend? Would you pay his debts if he fell behind- Or lodge him in your home if he had none? Would you allow him to dine at your table, share the blessings that you have found? Would you provide his needs if only able? Would this change if it wasn't your friend; More like he's a man who didn't know you? How far would you still go for him then? Think about this, whatever would you do? There was a man who gave for His friends. He took love further heights than we know. For us He went pass the greatest of ends, to save from destitution every lost soul. He was horsewhipped after stripping down, taking great punishment for the evils of all. A stinging back and thorns, a bloody crown, Would you for a stranger answer this call? To allow striking of your languishing cheeks, carry a cross, though it is too heavy to bear and collapse in agony by becoming so weak in front of peers who you thought would care. Ask yourself what you'd do if in His place; To let men drive a spike through your hand and stand for people to spit in your face? These and much more are hard to understand; At last, one more duty needs performing; That is sacrificing your life for your foes- Go to the depths of hell to save the world! What you'd find in your mind God only knows. Now, some may say they'd do some of these, for one who knows them, not men who don't. Yet, He freely chose to forsake His needs, knowing, many shall do only what they want. 'To do good things for the least of His friends, in doing this for them, you're doing unto Him'. This is just one vital message that He sends. Find out if you can what are the rest of them. To the readers, now that I've got your attention, A question to ask, becomes the answer for you- With all of the many facts that are mentioned, Wonder for a moment: What if it all is true? ***** Poetic Fanatic ***** Thomas F.
