If You Were God
If You Were God If You were God, what would you do, for the people, knowing nothing at all about you? If You were God, what shall you say, To lost children, in choosing not to live your way? If You were God, why would you wait, a loathsome world, hurled into the fires of hate? If You were God, would you weep for all of us, who fail, your guide to keep? If You were God, OH! What To Feel, being blamed of the pure hell, man's making real? If You were God, what to try now, when men refuse, Supreme Deity, humbly to bow? If You were God, in taking so much would you long, the hateful people, again to touch? If You were God, and people laugh, at your nature, justice and wrath, what, be your path? The test is at head, people on earth. He may get weary, seeing how many, are even worth- The troubles, trials, tears, terrors, seen, hoping of those, we'd forever, To Him only, fi-nal-ly... cling. ***** Poetic Fanatic ***** Thomas F.
