Brought into existence with an inner division, my soul ripped from me, beyond all decision. Love never had the chance to exist, temptation to cease I simply can't resist. Those within my life whom I cherished, are drawn from my keeping to perish. For pain in nihility, you cannot see, alike breathing, I live involuntarily. The gap is forced aside to an infallible degree, when lust is savored temporarily. But now, I'm drowning in nothing, like a dead man walking. You wish to help me and deface my pain, but these are contemplations I can maintain. Trapped in my life equilibrium’s chain, of substance I simply cannot explain. You want equitable love, jointly we’d sing, but I am barren with indefinitely nothing to bring. You yearn to savor all my thoughts whole, experience my heart, and feed your soul. Presentation of extinction, so tender, is a deed I simply cannot render. I'm drowning in nothing, like a dead man walking. Life is absent from inside, all within me has died. My stiff spirit has numbed reason, vanishing like the facade of seasons. Nothing is only something you cannot endure, only God can salvage my spirit with a cure. So I plead for you to leave me be, with a plague I pray is merely temporary. If I plunder in love, I'll let you come to me, as imminent as you covet to be, to deem my heart beating free, and bestow all of me, my love, if I still have any... I'm drowning in nothing, like a dead man walking. I am the disturbance in actuality, like a dwarf star lost in connectivity. Recalling nothing without any notion. with no place to stand in a world of motion. Drowning in a river of non-subsistence, I'm a hole tearing through existence. Falling in a vast war of no purpose, crawling in a faint sea of no surface. An inevitable, predestined thrall, sinking and fading in karma’s call. Death for eternity, with nothing to drift free, ...I am, utterly empty. (c) Joe Ulisses Written March 11th, 2001 © on Feb 05 2002 02:28 PM PST 18 • 0 • 1
