A Thought or A Prayer

By poetry fanatic2002

I think that if I actually smiled for once, maybe I could be happy! Maybe of I told everyone how I felt maybe I could feel something. They try to believe that I am kindhearted, and accepting, but I guess they really don't know me. Either that or I don't know myself. Whatever it is, I just wish that I could find the truth for one moment. To know for one moment who I really was! To think that once in my lifetime I was right! God please help me, give me the strength to carry on, to one day open up to the people that love me, or say they do. Help me to be true to myself, help me to stay honest. GOD PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE! I am lost in a world that is so cold, a world that has turned its back on me, left me out in the rain, and taught me to be the person I am. The person I have never wanted to BE! The world has trained me to wear my mask with pride. All I have ever wanted to do is rip the damn thing off and face the world. I want the world to look me in the eyes and for once see that I am no longer going to let it stand in my way.2001, Written October 4th, 2001 © on Oct 04 2001 10:01 AM PST   0 • 10
