Whisper In The Night
By Quabben
Whisper In The Night I was slumbering well and very deep. Not even a dream, could form in my tired mind. How still and quiet this perfect sleep, So long sought for; one of a kind. With darkness all around there was no sound. My body lay and soaked in rest. The stresses going as I rewound, For in this state I am so blessed. Oh what is that, I am now stirred. I’m not so deep but not yet awake. My soul detects a single word. Just softly whispering that I might wake. With open eyes I see the dark. No sound comes now, where has it gone. Oh I listen more and strain so hard, It’s there, but faint and from above. What is it, that calls to me this restful night. How can it dare to waken me from much afar. But now it calls with all its might. Oh Lord, it is the cry of a falling star. I look outside and into the sky And see its tail screaming bright. It is the end of a heavenly flight. Yes, I see the star, it dies tonight. BA Written December 29th, 2001 © on Dec 29 2001 06:00 AM PST 0 • 13
