Ancient Youth
By Ravenas
I, who have watched the night wan into suffocating darkness, have felt the pangs of unrequited hunger clutch at me. The crisp bite of dawn’s breath has, eaten away the wholesome sustenance of day. The suns light is but an alien intrusion now. The ray of hope has been overshadowed by the dark of isolation. I, who was shown the heart of evil, Have learned to recognize it’s multitudinous faces. My alien self is indifferent to corruptions causes. I hate this malediction of humanity, even though my infrequent inner explorations reveal A tangle of blackness that painfully consumes like cancer. I, who bears the stigma of housing split and opposing entities, cry out as they destroy me in their conflict. The tears they rip let loose torrents of repressed memories and emotions. I suffer as I fight, fight, fight the dawn of alienation with revelations of evil. I know all is lost; purity and love can never take root in the poisoned depths Of the heart possessed by an Ancient Youth. Written March 15th, 2002 © on Mar 15 2002 08:48 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
