An Insult to True Talent
The rhyming, the rhyming, the foolish senseless folly of the nonsensical rhyming, and this is art? Nothing to say and nothing said. So why waste breath and pen? Do you have something to say? Then say it! Say it or say nothing at all. Don't waste the time of those who would hope that you have something to say. Something worthy of being heard. And those who admire this nothing said. How easily they muse. I have studied many of the classic works, some of such great thought and depth, so much to say and so much said. Thoughts transcending time itself. Universally understood, admired, and appreciated. Could a senseless rhymer's work ever compare to the greats? Yes, but only in the minds of the most simple of minded.I wrote this a few years ago, and at the time I hardly ever wrote anything that had rhyme to it. And I saw a few writers on the site I was posting to at the time, who seemed so preoccupied and obsessed with the rhyming part and the use of all the high powered flowery words that much was lost in their meesages, and that kind of made me think, what is their point? It got losts in the rhyming. And their were those that seemed to think that these works were the greatest, but I just couldn't see it. So this was my way of venting a little at the time. I have never really seen that kind of style on this site and have seen nothing but truly gifted and talented writers here. You know who you are.... right? Anyhow, I love you man, can I have your budwieser? Written May 2nd, 1997 © on Nov 28 2001 01:46 AM PST 0 • 10
