Anatomy of a Love

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

One night in my loneliest hour you came to me, and you made me feel once again. It's hard to explain the ways you made me feel, but I think you felt those same things too, for I saw it in your eyes. Even now, as I think about it, the words that could explain elude me, and they have a hard time coming. You have all the quaities I'm searching for, and in them I see you. You made me feel all the things I once felt, in a time and place so for away and I know just what I wanted to do, to hold you, to kiss you, to make sweet love. I hope you know I am but a man, with all my imperfections, and could you live with them, once you came to that realization. So many in this world expecting perfection from their mate, although they know that there is no such thing as perfection in this world. What if I tried harder than most, to be all to you that I could, would it be enough, enough to make you stay, enough to make you want to be with me always, now and forever. Be with me one half of the two it take to be together as one, in this anatomy of love. Written January 28th, 2002 © on Jan 28 2002 05:27 AM PST   0 • 8
