And then, there was you

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I had finally found my place, by your side. Things were starting to make sense in this crazy world. I had been roaming around somehow lost until there was you. I feel like I was but a seed, when you found me, that would one day yield a beautiful rose. And you picked me up and planted me. And you were the soil, proving me with all the necessary nutrients to blossom forth. And you were the rain drops from up above, that quenched my thirst. And you were the life giving sunshine and it was good. And I was growing stronger every day. And my buds had formed and the day would soon be at hand that the petals would open and revile their indescribable beauty. We walked together hand in hand. And I felt so whole with you there by my side, in my life, and in my heart. ~~~~~~~~~~ But in an instant you were gone. And the thought came crashing threw my head that I would never again look over and see you by my side. And with you went the sunshine, and the nutrients and rain drops that I so desperately needed. And then I woke, heart pounding, breath racing. And in an instant, I was aware that this was but a horrible dream. ~~~~~ And then, there was you.Copyright ©1998 by Richard J.
