And they did it in the name of GOD
If this offends anyone, I apologize. When I wrote this, I wasn't sure if I could/should share it. It's just me trying to figure out if man made God in his own image, or if we even truly know the real God. (our creator) If viewed with an open mind, at least something of it may make sense. They oppress the human spirit, and in the name of God, in the name of good, in the name of righteousness. They who have taken the words of men, as the words of god. A book of paper and pen. The paper and pen of man. The way according to mortal man, supposedly from divine inspiration, but all too many times, simply self-serving. Man creating God, in his own image. Man who has this obsession. This obsession with rules, and controlling. Man, always trying to explain things that he cannot explain. Rarely accurate now, and much less then. Each group with the way, the only way, all others being wrong. All so sure of their set of rules being the only way. So quick to judge, these men. These makers of the rules, one of which was, not to judge. An eye for an eye. or, turn the other cheek. So which is it? If black is black today, then, is it not black tomorrow? It seems to be whatever serves the need at hand. God has no need for the blood of animals, as the ancient offered. These gifts of blood from the very creatures that he created. This was man's idea. Ancient man, and an ancient idea it was. Had man never created this book, Who would they turn to for the answers? Would they have to cut out the middle man? Would they have to form a true personal relationship? Would they have to talk to GOD themselves? Would they have to follow their own heart for once? No father wishes his children, run around so preoccupied with worshipping him, that they cannot enjoy the gift of life that he has given. No father He did not give us these lives to meet some sort of need of his to be worshipped. No father would ever give up on one of his own children. No father. No father would send one of his children to an everlasting eternity of flame and pain. No father. He looks at his children, with pride, and a sadness. The pride come from those who enjoying this life he has given to us, in the fullest, richest ways. His sadness comes in seeing those who would waste their lives, too busy following the rules man has imposed upon us, and in his name. God has given us these lives of ours to live. So whatever you do, do not waste this precious gift. Written November 11th, 1997 © on Oct 15 2001 02:54 AM PST 0 • 13
