Blind Trust
As I choose to trust, I trust in my judgement. As my trust is betrayed, so then is my judgement in question. Do I choose to play it safe, not giving my trust freely, or not even at all, or do I continue to trust blindly with no reason to trust? Do I have faith in my fellow human beings, in the hope that someday, my trust will be reciprocated in some rewarding way? Yes, this is my choice, for even after having tasted the bitter pain of betrayal, I feel it is better to trust, than to close out the world with a paralyzing fear of trusting. I will live life, proceeding forward, with both eyes open, trusting my judgement as best I can, knowing that it is not infallible. Written September 7th, 1996 © on Dec 07 2001 02:56 AM PST 0 • 10
