Deception
I saw her again last night, once more with he, trapped in his web of deception, cloaked in his veil of empty promises and a road leading to nowhere. He has captured her heart as an object of desire, a plaything to be toyed with, then thrown aside, as the need suit him. One who would rope her in, only to tear her heart to pieces. I can not get hold of her hand and pull you free from his spell, for he has her dangling on a string, just about the flames that will one day burn her once more. It is not my roll or my responsibility to save her from this oh so cruel fate, but it is hard to stand by and watch him tear her apart time and again, a little bit at a time until there is nothing left but pain, sorrow and regret. But my compassion compels me to throw out a life line, in the hope that she would take hold and break free from his trap. Oh, that empty hollow sound, echoes in my head. Bittersweet is the taste he leaves, and her tears will no doubt flow once more, and I will be there to help dry her eyes, for that is what friends are for.
