Dreams of us

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I was waking from a dream with you. It was the grandest dream I ever knew. For even after waking, you did not disappear, you were still with me in this waking state. You said you finally saw me for what I am, I was no longer invisible to you. You could not believe your eyes at first, but in a time so short, it became all to clear. You did not know how you could have ever missed, the layers of me so deep and true. I was wanting you, reaching for you, dreaming of holding you, for so very long, it seemed, but you had never before reached to me, until now, for the time, it was at hand, and we were finally together, just as it was always meant to be. My angel had arrived, your face now plain to see. It was you in all those dreams before, but your face, it was a blur. The blanks, they now fill in one by one, until our story, it becomes whole. The wait so long was worth it's time, you needed to once more find yourself. And we held each one the other, in arms, heart, and soul, and all the world was right, then this dream did fade away, and give way to the mornings light. Now I feel like I shared with you something so special, though I know it was all in my heart alone. So until this dream becomes our flesh, I will hold you in these dreams of us.Did you ever wake from a dream so "where you want to be", only to dream of sleep once more and the reuniting. Until I dream again, my love. Written December 27th, 2001 © on Dec 27 2001 01:56 AM PST   0 • 12
