Ever So Tenderly

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The answer to my prayers, all my dreams come true in you. But for one, one so true. To have you, to hold you, to call you my own. Out of my darkness you came, into my heart you have arrived, but not to stay, for you can not. You belong to another, this I do know. But that can not stop the dreams from coming, It can't stop this longing, this unfulfilled burning desire from screaming out your name. My heart knows something it does not want to know. The dreams I dream standing in front of me all came true in you when we held, my heart, it told me so, it let me know. So close and yet a million miles away you are from me, you are from my world dare I dream this dream of this unattainable aspiration? Dreaming of holding you ever so tenderly, ever so gently, close my heart to yours, as our soul become of one flesh, as we become as one for all times, without beginning and without end.
