forevermore and a day

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

To you I came to help you on your way. to you, I’ve grown to love. Not to have you to hold today, to squeeze you in my arms, and press to you my soul, that is how these things, they go just like you went away, but in my heart the memories stay. There is no power could take that away, so I’ll think of you from day to day, and only wonder what if. The next time God sends a gift like you, a hold of it I’ll keep forevermore and a day.The picture is a self-portrait from 1972. What a kid!
