Forge my soul

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Her letter almost made me cry, almost, but as I hammer and bend and shape and forge my soul to be what it will be, I must save all the tears I can, for I need them to quench the flames that burns in my heart, so that they will not consume me wholly. We've all been there, tasted the bitter sweet realization that pain and loss are the best teacher, but only to the student which strive to learn. More questions than answers, more confusion than conclusion, yet we try, don't we? Written September 4th, 2001 © on Oct 14 2001 01:10 AM PST   0 • 12
