Grieving a loss

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

A friend ask, "why so blue?" "It looks like you just lost your best friend." "I'm grieving a loss," I said, "an oh so beautiful dream I once held so close to my heart has died and I'm weak in the knees and can bearly find the strength to go on, for I know not which way to go, or how I'd know when I got there." So I sit in this state of nothingness, looking like I just lost my best friend, for part of my dreams was of you, becoming just that to me, "my best friend."
