Heart in a box

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Heart in a box, safe as can be, but never days light, will that safe heart see. And no air to breathe, another price to be paid, and not to feel love, can't there be another way. I lay my heart on that chopping block, and wear it on my selve. Some people find this hard to believe, but to find love I see, there's no other way, but to hope and to trust, and pray for the day, that one true would find it and not chop away. And if that love does once come my way, I pray that it lasts for the rest of my days. Written January 29th, 2002 © on Jan 29 2002 01:44 AM PST   0 • 10
