Heart shaped box

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I gave to you my heart and you wore it round your neck, if only for a while, then you gave it back to me, for you could not take it home, so I did, and placed it in a box. A heart shaped box is where it lays, in wait for you and the day, that you will once again wear it on that neckless round your neck, as it hanges to your heart's level, and they beat in perfect time. I hold my breath and hope and pray, as I wait for that so glorious day. Written February 13th, 2002 © on Feb 13 2002 06:25 AM PST   0 • 12
