Indian Summer River Road Run
Indian summer don't go away, a dusting of snow, you melted today, sun in my face, wind in my hair, as leather and wind collide, rolling thunder unleashed, twin Harley pistons, pounding away, throttle wide open, redline in sight, ice in the river, flows along side, a tugboat breaks through, as the ice chunks, they flow, the tugboat, it paces me, then I pull away, bare trees and bluff on the other side, winters grip holds on, not a leaf to be seen, ribbon of road under my wheels, hopping the bars, from beer to beer, riding my bike, I love it this way.I haven't had the old black and chrome out on the road for over a month, winter, you know, but we had an India Summer day today and it got up to 53 degrees. Last night's snow all melted away and I heard the road calling to me and my Harley so how could I do anything but ride. I had to watch the intersections because there was still a lot of salt on the roads to melt last week's ice. Man, what a beautiful ride. Can't wait till spring's here.
