Letting Go

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

So off she goes, once again like she's done so many times before. She said we are through, don't have what it takes She said it's better this way, So in the blink of an eye, she took her love away. But my heart was all too soft, even when I knew it was time to walk away, I just couldn't do it. So I held our love close to my heart, and I tried with all my might to breath life back into it. And even as I held our cold dead love in my arms, I just couldn't bring myself to let it go. But let our love go I must, for I have not a choice. She wins and it is over, and it is done, as it is her will, and I am letting go for I know not how to hold on. Just one more tragic tragedy, my heart has suffer in my quest for the one that will work with me to make love work. Written August 7th, 1999 © on Dec 07 2001 12:45 AM PST   0 • 10
