Mistakes, the lessons learned

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Learning, the best that can be hoped for from our mistakes. Should we be fortunate, the cost for our mistake would be, not too great. Should fortune frown upon us, oh, what price we pay. All the treasures of our lives at stake. How much must we pay. Any of our treasures, things of such great value. None go unmissed. Our mistakes demanding payment. How great the cost. Are we prepared to pay such lofty fees? No, and yet mistakes spew forth unchecked. How can we stop this madness? Paying the price, learning the lessons, avoiding the repeat of these costly mistakes. Taking the time. Looking at our-selves. Seeing our-selves as we are seen by others. What do we see? Room for improvement? Areas of our lives that require some special attention. How many live life looking only ahead, looking only to the needs of them-selves? What about the needs of the ones loved. Can their needs go unfulfilled? No, these are costly mistakes, best gone unmade. Many times our happiness is dependent on the happiness of the ones we love. Should they be unhappy, so will we soon find our-selves in this unhappy state. We will all make mistakes as we live these lives that we were given, but we will not all learn. What a sad thing this is. As we live life and see the price that we must pay for our mistakes it is hoped that we can learn. It is hoped that we can avoid the repeat of the mistakes that we have made. It is hoped that we can look ahead and avoid many mistakes before they are realized. This is one important lesson that I have learned at great personal cost. Written October 21st, 1996 © on Nov 29 2001 01:04 AM PST   0 • 10
