Once I read

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I once read that it is in man's nature to love, then destroy that which he loved, only to love it again once lost, and I can only guess that is why she could not love me once more, for she was unable to destroy my love for her, but one day this love will die, and she will have suceeded, in her intended distruction. Then will she love me once again, if only in her heart? Oh, the nature of man, and love, and heart, and the why of it all. To understand, if only...... to understand.
