Pleasure and Pain (long read)
Pleasure, the nectar of life. The pot of gold at the end of lifes rainbow. The driving force behind all we do. The pleasure of the job well done. The job of life, a difficult job to say the least. The pleasure of meeting the goals of life. Happiness, self-satisfaction, a feeling of self-worth. Doing for the ones loved. Bringing a smile to the faces of the ones loved ,the joy, the pleasure unmeasurable. Life at its finest. Oh, the power these feelings have over the soul. Should it all come naturally? Some say so. It is expected by most. Those who forget about the human factor. Man is known for his imperfections. Perfection, a goal that can never be met. The best one can hope for is to keep the mistakes in ones life down to a minimum. A task more easily said than done. The mistakes. Oh , the mistakes one makes and the pain they bring. Pain that must be avoided at all cost. The one and only way to avoid this pain. To stop living. With a potential for pleasure, always comes a potential for pain. The greater the potential for pleasure, The greater the potential for pain. There is no getting around this cold cruel fact. Those who have the most, have the most to lose. Should we play it safe, this game of life? Should we sit on the side lines and watch others win or lose. No, not this human being. I will take the gamble, and should I stumble and fall, I will get up and brush myself off and get back in the game. For it is better to have played the game and lost than never play at all. A game unplayed can never be won. A winner does not always win, but never gives up, always in the game.Old knowledge gained the hard way.
