purr of happy hearts

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I found your lost love, laying on the floor, there in a heap, and it was a love no more. I tried to help you pick it up and give it back it him, but he wouldn't couldn't pick it up and breath into it the life that once was. It would not fit back into your heart and for some reason it clung to me. How so lucky could this man be, that your sweet love would come to me. I will take this love and clutch it to my soul, and hold it in my heart and never let it go. Come to me if you will, it you can and I'll fill the empty place. Nevermore will that hollow sound be heard, but laughter and purr of happy hearts so full. Written February 12th, 2002 © on Feb 12 2002 11:49 AM PST   0 • 8
