Silver Wings
Seems like where ever I go, and what ever I do, there's always something to bring me back to you. From above I hear a sound. A sound unmistakable. The same sound that once brought me to you, only to take me away, in a time all to soon. I look up and there it is. A marvel of modern man. A massive bird of silver, and fire, taking people of this place, a world away. Upon silver wings they ride, skipping from ground to sky, and back again, like stones on a pond. Sometimes I curse those wings, for taking me to heaven, only to bring me back to my emptiness. You were like a dream come true. A dream that I knew, I would have to wake from all to soon. There I was walking in heaven, with an angel, only to be sent back to earth, and the reality that you were but a dream, a dream come true, for a time so short, for a time so sweet. For now I dream. I dream of the day my dream comes true. My dream of sharing life with you. Written September 15th, 1997 © on Oct 10 2001 07:44 AM PST 0 • 12
