Tabloids
And there we were, you and I, standing in the check out line, and all the tabloids said, the devil was coming, and many would burn as the world ended with the millennium, And I laughed, for only a fool believes the things the tabloids tell, or then I thought. But now I realize that the only fool was I. For at the ending of this millennium you took your love away from me, And yes, my world has ended, for without you, it has no meaning, and my heart has perished, for without your love it has no will to live. And if I can't be with the one I love, then what is the point of living, what is this life worth without you? Come on end, I welcome you, and an end to my pain, if this is how it is to be. The devil has come like a thief in the night, and whispered into your ear, and stolen your love away. You thought he was an angel, guiding you on a coarse to heaven, when truly he has guided your heart and mine into his eternal flames along with our love. So you threw our love away, into his pit. And I would swim the seas of flame, and fight the fires of hell, and do battle with the devil himself, and win that battle for your love. In all the world there is no place that I would rather be, than by your side, where I belong, and why can't you just see it is where we belong? But as long as you are under his spell, we will be where we now are, together apart. Written December 14th, 1999 © on Dec 04 2001 01:32 AM PST 0 • 10
