The Fathers Plan

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

God worked so hard, planned and plotted, pointed and directed a path for me. A path that lead me to you on that fate filled night. As he planned and plotted and lead you on a path to me. And our paths did cross then and there. And he filled my eyes with a twinkle so you would see that you were where you were meant to be. And that same twinkle, in your eyes he put, so there would be no mistake in my heart that my endless journey had reached it's end, my angel being found. And he looks down from his throne on high, down upon us two with a twinkle in his eyes. The twinkle of a job well done, one of his most precious gifts, and such a simple plan, that of a man and woman united. And now the reins are in our hands, And it is up to us, to do with this uniting what we might. And we will live, and we will love, and we will be to one another, all things we should be, and we will work together so hard to make the most of this gift that he has given, and hand in hand, heart to heart and we will walk together for all time, be it my choice.
