the Moon

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I am the Moon and you my Venus. I admire your beauty from afar and dream of, from earth breaking free, as I whisk myself worlds away, to a place I long to be, in orbit by your side. And I would spin round and round, as your gravity, it pulls me in. I see you there so far away, and dream of the journey that would lead me to you. This attraction that can not be denied, this yearning unfulfilled. The moons, they are many, but none so true, as this one far away, dreaming of just you.The dreams we dream, so close and yet so far in this small world of so many miles.
