The other side
Some say that the grass is greener on the other side. Some are so preoccupied with the hypnotic hues of that other side, willing to forsake all just for the opportunity to cross over. They work so hard to get to that other side only to find disappointment. Once there they turn to find that where they just came from now appears to be much greener than they realized, but because they worked so hard to cross over, they may not have the strength or the means to return. Some have seen enough of the world to know the truth. They are aware of this "Greatest Illusion that Life has to Offer". A human tendency. To want what they do not possess, unable to appreciate what life has given them. A desire for something better. Not knowing that the greener grass is just an illusion, a trick consisting of angles, light, and perception. Those on the other side are lustfully looking at us, seeing what we have, willing to throw away all that they have for just a piece of that greener grass that they see. How much life must we live before we realize that the greenest grass we could ever hope to possess is beneath our own feet. The greater we care for it, the greener it becomes. Lack of proper care will surely kill the grass which lies on either side. The wise try every known technique to care for what they already have so that it might burst forth with a color so vivid all else seems pale in comparison.
