The Wind

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

My heart is like the wind. No one can ever hope to own the wind like you would own a piece of jewelry, but there are those who are happy to let the wind fill their sails, helping them to reach their destination. There is no telling when, or which way the wind will blow. This heart of my, it's as unpredictable as the wind. Even I am unable to tell what it will do next. I can not control it. It controls me. That is the way it should be. Should this heart of my ever find the place where it's soul-mate resides, that is where it will dwell for the rest of its days. I look forward to this day with great anticipation. I am but a passenger on this trip, along for the ride, but I will reap the benefits when it finally reaches its destiny. When it arrives, it will know, and so too will I. Written January 22nd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 03:40 AM PST   0 • 12
