This battle we battle

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Battle with me this battle I battle, as for you, the same I do. This battle with past fears, the wrongs we've faced, hurtful words, that cut so deep, the painful betraying tongues, the emptiness of abandon hearts. You are not they, this I know, nor am I. Courage we need and will we find, in one the other, as we keep our eyes on our prize, you and I. Help me help me, help me help you, help me help us. I open my ears, my heart, my soul, to what you say. Show me the way so never shall I stray, from the path that leads us to our love.
