Time at hand

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The time will soon be at hand, I know, that you must go and should you leave before our last goodbye, know this, I do truly love you and all your gifts to me. Heaven bound you will be to rejoin and rejoice. Please say hello to Grandpa, Mother and Father, and let them know they are always in my heart, just as are you, from my beginning till time is no more. I will weep tears of sadness for this world, when it loses your grand beauty, and I will weep tears of joy in knowing that you finally made it home, the pains of your worn body left behind, to be suffered no more. You will be missed just as the others already are, but I know the day will come that we will all be together once more. I pray that I can be strong in your passing, but I sometimes wonder if I can. To stand alone once more, I know this all too well, the empty hollow sounds echo through my soul. I find myself so many times thinking, this news, it is so great, I want to tell Mother and Father, and then It hits me, so then I think it is you that I will tell, and I do with pride and joy. Soon, I will be telling not a soul of these things, the fallen tree will make no sound. So I'll save these stories untold, one by one, until my time, it is at hand, and we do meet again. To Grandmother Written December 28th, 2001 © on Dec 28 2001 01:24 AM PST   0 • 10
