Two stars, Holyfield's ear

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Riding high at number one, the best of the month and year, and then comes along just that one, that bites off my Holyfield ear. Couldn't hear what it was I say, probably didn't care anyway..... slammed me with only two stars, like a hit below the belt. The pain of a job well done, now with this awful welt could the multitudes all be wrong was it not that good or did it fall on deaf ears, like those that are made of woodThis is something I threw/slammer together in two seconds flat to vent, because it seems like the people that always want you to rewrite you poems to their like usaully don't seem to have much talent shown in their work. And the best writer always seem to see the half full cup. I always look for the beauty in the simplest of writings, and I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. So as I review, I will praise or say nothing at all most of the time. But that's just how I am. Written October 16th, 2001 © on Oct 16 2001 04:06 AM PST   0 • 10
