Valentine
I had been so long, so lonely All those February the 14th's. Lonely and alone, so alone, But this time was so different So differently filled with the promises Of a love anew, an Angel finally. Finally in my life and in my heart. So what was my Valentine's day surprize, What could it be? I could have never dreamed. 'Twas a basket, wrapped in red Made by hand, made with love, So much love, from her heart to mine. How lucky could a man be, To find a loving woman Like I was blessed with? My angel had arrived. And in my basket was, A heart of chocolate with Peanut butter which I loved so. That's why it was in there, Because she knew I loved it And she wanted too show me How special I was in her heart. And in the basket was a bottle Filled with the loving spirit from her heart to mine. And with this bottle came two glasses, Glasses with our names etched into them. This served to etch her name in my heart. My heart cried with joy, To find one with so much love, Who could touch my heart in this way. One more suprize awaited me, The best of all, it was a key. A key to her heart. I was the first time I laid by her side, For the night, and it was truly a taste Of what heaven might be like. Filled with love and sharing And thoughtfulness and caring And she was mine, all mine. Heaven had surely smiled down on me That fate filled night we met. And we walked together hand in hand, And we laughed, and we loved, And we lived our lives together as one. And I held her in my arms, And I held her in my heart, And she was my life, But I had to let her go, For as time passed, so too did her love for me, So now here I sit lonely and alone once again Wondering why, why my angel had to fly away?
