We the People

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Sometimes we just have to ask ourselves, who are we, what makes us who we are? I did just that the other day, and here is what I found: We am the kindest, gentlest, most loving, giving people you would ever want to meet. We'd walk a hundred miles out of our way to help you, We'd walk hundred to avoid trouble. But We are the meanest, most dangerous, biggest, badest people, you'd never want to cross, if that's what you need us to be too you. We'll walk ten thousand miles out of our way to make you sorry you ever knew our name. So many sides we have, and which one will you see, is entirely up to you. The one that you deserve, it's waiting just for you, you know. We're your worst nightmare, the sleeping giant you never should have awakened. Yes, know our name, we are the people, we are the country, we are the we, "we the people" Written December 14th, 2001 © on Dec 14 2001 04:07 AM PST   0 • 10
