where there's smoke

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I'll meet you in my dreams, my Dear and in my arms, I'll hold you near, and as I press my lips to you, I'll do the things you want me to, and whisper things just for you that you have never heard. No one else will hear these word, I'll say them just for you, together as we burn and sear and melt into a pool of perfect love. And as we wake and say farewell you'll know this much to be true, in my heart, I will hold near, til I once more dream with you. You know what they say, "where there's smoke, there's fire".
