you smiled at me

By Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

You smiled at me, and made me feel again, showed me that it was possible that I might in you, find a friend, And I told you of the things my heart was telling me, And I wish I could read your mind, see inside your heart, know your fears, and defeat them, know your needs, and meet them, know your desires, and fulfill them, get behind your walls, hold you close to me, show how good I could be, to you and just maybe for you. I wish you could find the room, to let me into your life, and into your heart. I think in many ways you have like when we touch and when I hold you close walking by your side, arm in arm, heart to heart. I reach my hand to you, with heart on sleeve, for I know no other way to show you my desire to walk with you this walk together as the sum of two Written October 13th, 2001 © on Oct 13 2001 02:11 AM PST   0 • 1 • 8
