A dreamer

By Rubee

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

A DREAMER I use to be a dreamer I dreamed a lifetime ago Of times gone by and yet to be Unknown lands yet to see A universe yet to unfold Many stories yet untold. Until I met a realist Who taught me all he knew That dreams and such were for fools Life was meant to live by rules Dreams were just a fantasy Not like life, reality. I use to be a dreamer And music filled my soul Living songs that I had heard My life revealed in every word Melodies from the heav'ns above Brought my world a peaceful love. So now I've been a realist Living life as planned For many years on end No childish pretend Until I met a dreamer Now I will dream again. *~PennyLynne~* Written July 17th, 1999 © on Jan 25 2002 02:36 AM PST   0 • 12
