No Room at The Inn
By safewrite
She drifts through the days, fighting, Trying to keep her head above water. Why is everything so hard Such a struggle Just to get through the day And not lose ground. She can’t quite keep up with the budget The budget runs over her. Always a day late or a dollar short. It’s not for lack of trying The effort takes each ounce of strength And those who don’t understand put her down - Mind readers who are sure of her motivations. She is lazy, a loser, a write-off, and a mess to them. But it takes more effort for her to take a shower Than it does for the average person to climb a mountain. At least God knows. But the compassionate doors of the judgmental Close in her face. No room in the Inn for chronic losers. You are a problem we cannot solve. Why don’t you just go away?
