Old Fashioned Christmas
By San d
"OLd Fashioned Christmas" An old fashioned Christmas Is what lingers in my mind. Colored Bulbs and tinsel of every shape and kind. A Christmas tree with an Angel It's lights that sparkled bright. And we waited up for Santa We stayed up half the night. Cookies on my night stand A glass of milk to quench his thirst We knew before he'd stuff our stockings. He had to have this first. We'd watch to see if Santa Flew across the evening sky. Would he forget about our house and accidentally pass us by? I'd see the snow flakes falling. And a twinkling star so bright. I knew it must be Santa's reindeer On Christmas Eve at night. And then I'd climb into my bed and softly say my prayers. My heart it pounded lightly. I could hear it softly beat. As I quietly drifted off to sleep. As I prayed my sole to keep. I'd wake before the morning's light. Creep down the hallways floor. So quietly I'd sneak to see the gifts up unde the tree. The Christmas tree was all a glow. And presents stacked so high. I'd sit there very quietly And wait for morning's light A good old fashioned Christmas is bedded in my mind. And memories that will last me until the end of time. By: Sandy/San-d Written October 11th, 2001 © on Oct 11 2001 02:15 PM PST, Sandra Kay Ratliff 0 • 10
